The Social Innovation Fellows program provides a stimulating learning experience at the nexus of health, science, and policy design in partnership with various government agencies. It is an outstanding opportunity for graduate students, health professionals, and behavioral and social scientists with an interest in health and healthcare policy to address the country's pressing health related issues. Social Innovation fellows advance the theory and practice of universal health care through their analytical and field work. They stimulate the discourse to contribute to the practice of universal health care along specific problem spaces. Fellows participate in the policy process at the national or local levels and use this leadership experience to improve health, health care, and health policy. (Click here for key references.)
Fellowship assignments are supplemented throughout the year by opportunities to participate in seminars and group discussions on drug abuse policy topics, as well as media training, and leadership development. Fellows are asked to prepare a formal presentation on a health policy issue with which they have been engaged. Fellows are also invited to take part in selected activities of the RAPID Consortium.
