University-based instructors with a desire to teach the concepts of universal health care to their students. They will assist in student projects that align with the themes of universal health care and resilience. A good teaching fellow is an advocate, innovator, and mentor. They believe that teachers and students have the capacity to enact change in the world.
Model Teaching Fellow: Susan Murcott
Teaching fellows are also encouraged to collaborate with at least one small unit at the city government level and actively co-design and prototype health-related projects over a one to two year period.
Transdisciplinary Teaching Fellows
University faculty members that actively explore the intersection of two or more disciplines within the domain of Universal Health Care.
Example - Bridge Teaching Fellows may actively co-teach a course with a physician to explore the dynamics between health and the physical spaces, or with a sociologist to delve into issues of the mall or club culture in relation to urban health.
Graduate students, health professionals, and behavioral and social scientists who are engaged in planning, governance, program implementation or policy work related to Universal Health Care. Social Innovation Fellows advance the theory and practice of Universal Health Care through their analytical and field work. They stimulate the discourse contribute to the theory and practice of Universal Health Care along specific problem spaces.
Undergraduate or graduate students who are committed to publishing research projects or papers along the themes of urban renewal. These projects may be done individually or in teams with other research fellows or faculty mentors.
The RAPID Consortium, in partnership with the Civika Universal Health Care Lab, provides a Health Policy Fellowship program focused on community based drug rehabilitation. The fellowship provides a stimulating learning experience in collaboration with various government agencies and places fellows at the nexus of health, science, and policy design.
